22 Weeks

From the family perspective, things are starting to slow down and come back to normal.  I am still elbow-deep in thank you cards and more just seem to keep coming.  It is great to see the outpouring of support from family and friends who all genuinely cared for my mother as much as we did.  It is very comforting.

We spent the weekend at the house in Philly collecting all of the baby items from your brother, clothes and more so that we can try and better prepare the house and everything for your arrival.  Jack and I went to the Outlets to buy some outfits and sleepers to supplement the clothes that will not work out due to the season.  We also hit up Pottery Barn Kids and the Janie and Jack Outlet and got some great toys and items for the home and matching outfits for next winter.

We are still hoping to sell this house as we truly don’t have a room ready for when you come home with us.  It is killing me with my nesting urge because all I want to do is prepare your nursery and prepare for your arrival.  Granted, the first few months are spent in the cradle in our room, but I would still love to have a special place for you in the house.  Once we sell the other house, you will have your own special room, but if we are still in this house, then you may have to room with your brother for a little while.  It will all work out.  I have faith in that.  Especially if your grandmother has a say in the matter!

21 Week Questions:

How far along? 22 weeks
Estimated size of you: You are the size of a spaghetti squash and are now 1lb and getting chubby!
Maternity clothes? Oh yes, and just got some new ones the other day!
Stretch marks? Nothing new
Sleep: Still not phenominal, but I’m still not getting up to go to the bathroom at night yet.
Best moment this week: Buying more clothes for you and starting to get the baby items together.
Miss Anything? I miss shopping with my Mom for your clothes and baby items. I broke into tears in Carter’s on Sunday reading the “I Love Grandma” sleepers and seeing all of the pregnant women shopping with their mothers.
Movement: You are a mover and a shaker, but still staying low in my belly.
Food cravings: Fried pickles (so cliche!) and Gatorade.  Caffeine free Coca Cola is liquid from the gods.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not this week.
Have you started to show yet: Yes, and growing!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: Nothing yet. Not even Braxton Hicks yet…
Belly Button in or out? In but getting shallow.
Wedding rings on or off? On and loose.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Still grieving, but trying to look at the bright side of things.
Looking forward to: Smelling that newborn smell, seeing you in a milk coma and watching Jack and Daddy interact with you.
